Who we are
Hello, we are the Towns family. I am Keith (the Dad), Debbie is my wife and our Children are James 9 and Hazel 6 (Charlotte has now left home and lives in the UK).
So why this web site? Well it is a combination of many things, culminating into one. We have always wanted to live in a warmer climate and I love to be able to spend time with the children, but my work always got in the way. I am an IT consultant and the wages are quite lucrative, however even though the threat was always there to end my contract, it kept being renewed year after year. We made ourselves the promise that should that ever happen, we would grasp the opportunity to change our lives.
Well the target to reduce the number of contractors came and my role was one of the many to be outsourced to India. Now, this was worrying times, we had to honour the promise we made to ourselves. Lots of late night, heart wrenching discussions ensued.
Apart from the concerns regarding the practicalities of touring Europe, I had no doubt it was the right decision. Personally, I will have the luxury of spending time with my children while they want to be with me. I will not be looking back when I am 60 and retired, wishing I could turn the clock back.
Our children are Home Educated and are the happiest, well mannered, well behaved children you could imagine. We have people go out of their way to approach us and say they just had to come over to tell us how well behaved James and Hazel are. I am convinced this is because of their Home Education, parental attention and loving environment. We believe our trip together will enhance their education and well being.
So here we are, we have packed everything we need into our caravan and set out to tour Europe. This web site is our story.
